Since 2006 Liberté has worked to integrate sustainable development in all their daily operations.

Last October, Liberté was rewarded for all their efforts by Winning the Desjardins Entrepeneurs Award, 2009 edition.

Desjardins Sustainable Development Prizes are awarded to Quebec and Ontario companies that demonstrate effective management, sound operations and socially responsible leadership. Companies must show sound financial performance and their commitment to sustainable development by contributing to the well being of the community or environment.

The selection committee evaluates eligible candidates according to the following criteria:

• Vision and leadership
• Development opportunities
• Financial management
• Human resources management
• Number of jobs created in Canada
• Community involvement (society, environment, sustainable development)

This prize will inspire us to continue working in the same direction and encourage all participating parties to adopt an approach to production that is more socially responsible and respectful of the environment.
